QAI Quest: Identifying Your Organization’s Best Software Practices

Next week I'll be attending the QAI Quest 2012 conference in Chicago. Looking at the pre-conference information available online, I can see that this is going to be one of the 'must attend' conferences for 2012.

I know that I'm personally excited to be presenting and also to have the opportunity to listen to some excellent speakers discussing a wide array of topics. I always leave a QAI conference more informed and richer for the experience. It was particularly rewarding for me to have my article in the program brochure as one of the featured articles this year!

I will be presenting on Wednesday, May 2 from 9:45-10:45am. My topic, Identifying Your Organization's Best Software Practices, should be an exciting discussion with a bit of controversy thrown in for good measure.  I intend to challenge conventional wisdom by questioning some of today's methods and techniques labeled as 'best software practices.' Who is to say whether or not something is a best practice? And how do you know it will be a best practice in your organization? It should be a fun discussion and I am hoping for some good participant interaction.

I will also be available at the David Consulting Group booth in the exhibition hall. Stop by booth #19 and say hi - you'll recognize me from my photo above!

What are you looking forward to about QAI Quest?

"It's frustrating that there are so many failed software projects when I know from personal experience that it's possible to do so much better - and we can help."
