This year’s Agile Development/Better Software Conference East, presented by Software Quality Engineering (SQE), was held in Boston, MA. I was excited to attend this year as a speaker and to drop in on other presentations. SQE always produces an excellent conference and this event lived up to their high standards. I was told that there were more than 500 registrants collectively for the Agile Development and the Better Software programs. Quite the turnout!
The first two days of the conference were devoted to tutorials covering a wide range of and an even mix of topics. The following two days of conference proceedings included plenty of networking opportunities throughout the day. Additionally, there were four keynote presentations; each one was informative, relevant and intellectually stimulating.
From what I could observe, the Agile presentations had the greater level of participation between the two programs. In discussions I had with other conference attendees, clearly Agile was their primary reason for attending. My particular presentation was under the Better Software program, but I still experienced lots of questions relating to Agile in regard to my topic on quality.
Agile continues to take a firm hold in our industry, and it doesn't appear that that trend will slow down anytime soon! In all, I enjoyed the conference, and I hope to go back next year.
