Yes, as the quote above illustrates – and as many of you may have realized in your own experiences – moving to the cloud isn’t easy. In many cases, the problems encountered are due to a lack of a clear strategy for moving applications into the cloud, a recipe for disaster.
And while, as the survey notes, there is increased cloud computing activity, a number of companies are still holding back. They are reluctant to throw away their investments in applications that have been enhanced over a number of years to meet the specific needs of the business, and they are (rightfully) concerned about security.
